5.1. Methodological overview
The subject includes theoretical as well as practical lessons. The theoretical lessons will include also real world situations.
The practical lessons will include the intensive use of computers under the teacher's supervision.
Module I practical lessons the students will analyze reports from international economic organizations, press news and other key material. From these materials, they will perform oral presentations and debates.
Module II practical lessons will solve case studies and problems by using the spreadsheet.
5.2. Learning tasks
The subject will include theoretical as well as practical activities, as explained in the previous subsection.
5.3. Syllabus
MODULE I. Economics and economic policy: (1) Aggregate supply and aggregate demand. (2) Monetary and fiscal policies. (3) Foreign sector and exchage rate. (4) The firm and the market.
MODULE II. Financial mathematics. (1) Introduction. (2) Interest rates. (3) Cost and profitability in the financial operations. (4) Annuities analysis.
5.4. Course planning and calendar
The subject includes 30 teaching hours. These hours will take place in theoretical rooms and/or computer rooms; the last one for practical lessons.
The schedule and timetable will be announced to the students in due time.

Classroom materials will be available via Moodle. These include a repository of the lecture notes used in class, the course syllabus, as well as other course-specific learning materials.
